Catholic Memorial’s motto is “Vince in bono malum” which is loosely translated as
“Conquer evil by doing good”. It is appropriate, therefore, that our mascot is the knight.
The knight was a medieval gentleman who went forth armed to redress wrongs; a
courageous person who defended the weak against the strong. A knight could be expected
to engage in activities aimed at conquering evil by doing good.
