1.

If two variables were directly proportional and an experiment were conducted gathering data, what would be the shape of the graph of the data?

2.

Suppose you were to have a spring. You experimented by adding weights to the spring and measuring how far it stretched for each weight. Then you produced a graph of weight (x axis) against stretch (y axis). By examining the graph, how would you determine whether or not the stretch was directly proportional to the weight?

3.

Robert Hooke said that for a spring the elongation is directly proportional to the force producing it. Describe an experiment you could do to test if this law holds true for some other object, such as a rubber band.
